High action cycling returns to the roads of Ryedale, North Yorkshire when the British Cycling National Road Race Series come to the district.
26 September – White Horse Sportive
For aspiring racers the local cycling club Malton Wheelers Road Club has a full programme of rides and activities including two road race events which form part of the North Yorkshire Evening Road Race League.
Mountain Bike Events
22 February 2020 – Yorkshire True Grit Dark Skies
Location: Newburgh Priory
Combine the toughness of Yorkshire True Grit with the dark skies of night; suitable for gravel bikes or cross-country mountain bikes. Bike 50 forest and moorland miles.
6 – 7 June 2020 – Moors One Hundred
A weekend introduction to the joys of bikepacking on the North York Moors. Over 90% of the route is off road, with great views, singletrack, fast gravel roads, forests, miles of open heather moorland, cosy country pubs and an evening camping at High Paradise Farm with pizza, beer and live music. Day one covers 53 miles, followed by 48 miles on day two.

19 – 21 June 2020 – Yorkshire True Grit (gravel grinding event)
Location: Starting location between Sutton Bank and Boltby, camping will be available too.
This off-road endurance adventure challenge across the North York Moors uses gravel tracks and trails with a choice of three routes 20, 40 or 60 miles. There’ll be classes for gravel, mountain, singlespeed, fat and electric bikes. Camping, catering, bar and a band on site too.

Date tbc October 2020 – Top of the Rock Gravel Sportive
Location: From Sutton Bank National Park Centre
Starting 1000ft up on the spectacular Sutton Bank escarpment, take a grand tour across moor ‘n dale on gravel trails.
Choice of three routes: Short: 27k (17 miles), Medium: 36k (22 miles) or Long: 60k (37 Miles).
Expect spectacular autumn colours, a relaxed and fun vibe with smooth and flowing to technically and physically challenging trails, as well as a beer tent at the end!
