Wheels spinning, legs feeling weak
Sweat dripping, on my check
Uphill uphill, keep moving
Pushing uphill, resistance, bruising
Seat so sore, aching wrists
The hill needs more, but my brain resists
Uphill uphill, keep moving
Pushing uphill, resistance, bruising
Reaching the submit, feels like a dream
We’ve overcome it, smile, beam
Hot and sweaty, out of breathe
Feeling heady, the agony left
Downhilll, downhill, keep on moving
Freewheel downhill, feels alluring
Lumpy track, shake me awake
Don’t look back, fingers on the break
We welcome you wind, sweat is cooling
On my skin it feels so soothing
Thanks to Pauline and Beccy Straw who wrote the above poem. I think anyone who cycles can relate to the words. Pauline has attended the Cycle with Confidence sessions and is a keen Ryedale Velo member.
