London North Eastern Railway are looking to the future of train travel in the UK and are keen to know what people most want from the design of long-distance trains – which features are most important to customers and which are the least important.
This would seem to be an excellent opportunity for Forum members to make known what cycle carriage provision they would find most helpful (and conversely, what train-designers ought to avoid).

Sustrans wants to help key workers to cycle to work safely during the Covid-19 pandemic.
They have created a digital map to promote cycle-related offers from UK businesses for key workers, including NHS staff. There is a list of key workers on the education provision page of the gov.uk website.
They already have lots of information on offers available in London, Greater Manchester and Edinburgh, but need more to create a useful point of information for key workers across the UK.
If you know of a business or a scheme that has an offer (either open specifically to key workers or to everyone) for bike loan or hire, repairs and maintenance, cycle support, or equipment and gear, please fill in this quick form with the following information:

This initiative is supported by the Walking and Cycling Alliance. Together, we can support the UK’s amazing key workers to stay safe whilst cycling to and from work in these difficult times.
The Bike Project are offering personal tutorials on-line on how to fix a bike. Its £15 for 30 minutes, but free to NHS staff. For those who have to work in essential services, bikes are a safer way to get to work than public transport during the Covid-19 crisis, but many bike shops are closed. The Bike Project are a charity who up-cycle donated bikes, and the funds raised go to provide bikes for refugees, to ease access education, healthcare, food distribution points and advice.
The development wish list page on the Get Ryedale Cycling website has been updated to take into account progress on particular schemes and suggestions for further route enhancements.
