Mike had an unexpected opportunity to speak to Radio York, to talk about a new York cycling campaign announcement, whilst also making the most of the opportunity to get a plug in for Ryedale Cycle Forum and Pickering CIC.
If you want to listen, from 2hrs09 for the preamble, then 2.16 to 2.22 for Mikes input, it will be available for another 29 days on https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0dv4sjj

Even with a request to speak at short notice, I had several more points prepared to raise, so it’s always a bit frustrating when you know you’ll get cut short. I hope what I managed to get in came across ok. I could just imagine a fair few motorists grinding their teeth at the thought of getting less that 99+% of the funding and having more cyclists on the roads (or better still, on safe segregated cycle routes). There seemed to be scant recognition that York is one of the best served towns/cities in the UK for cycling, although still nowhere near good enough.
